Easy
An ancient, 400-year-old stone village built atop a white marble hill. Surrounded by lush, green agricultural valleys growing bananas and palms, offering incredible photography amazing opportunities.
The descent features winding, well-paved mountain switchbacks as you drop from the high cliffs into the valley. Watch for tourist traffic on weekends and occasional debris near the valley floor.
Challenging
A large forest park on the edge of the Sarawat escarpment near Al Baha, with pine and juniper trees, picnic areas and cool misty air, plus wide views toward the famous 25 tunnels and the deep valleys dropping to Tihama.
Access uses steep mountain roads with tight, cambered bends and sudden fog; expect slow cars, speed bumps and monkeys near the trees, so stay in low gear, brake early, and park only where there is wide, flat, visible space.
Expert
Unique, Fantastic, dramatic granite twin mountains rising abruptly out of the lower plains. Known for bizarre weather-worn giant rock formations, hidden caves, and striking, remote volcanic geography.
The approach roads feature wide, sweeping turns. However, roads ascending the slopes get highly technical, narrow, and exceptionally steep. Recommended for confident, experienced riders.
